A YOUNG Camden team recorded yet another two-point win, beating Oakdale 28-26 in the Group 6 Country Rugby League first grade competition.

Featuring mainly players aged between 18 and 21, the Rams prevailed for a vital win.

Oakdale scored the first try through Matt McCauley but Rams' tries from Glynn Bester and Nathan Beckitt saw Camden hit the lead.

Oakdale scored two quick tries to go to the break leading 22-14. But only two minutes had elapsed in the second half when Glynn Bester scored his second try.

Oakdale had not given up and ran in three tries but the Rams held on to win.

Best for Camden were Neil Begovitch, Nathan Beckitt and Chris Corby, while for Oakdale, Luke Barron, Ron Jones and Matt MacBeth had good games.

Thirlmere/Tahmoor came back from 8-0 down to beat Moss Vale 22-14. The Roosters went into the game without Peter Jensen who was in action for the Country representative team. Moss Vale centre Robert Wiya crossed for the first try but Thirlmere hit back with an Owen Howe try.

Wiya scored his second try but tries to Troy Wozniak, Jason Sampson and Matt Carlyon gave the Roosters the victory.

Best players for Thirlmere were Todd Meads, Shane Wooden, Troy Wozniak and Leo Dynevor while Tom Hayter, Robert Wiya and Lee Trasler played well for the Dragons.

Picton beat Narellan 26-16 with the Magpies' Matt Brinkworth having another great game to win man of the match.
