A HARRINGTON Park Primary School skipping team became Macarthur's latest NSW champions on the weekend.
The 9/10 years Harrington Park Hot Peppers emerged victorious in the NSW Skipping Championships against teams from as far afield as Yamba, Tenterfield and Cowra.
In a successful weekend of competition, the locals won a total of five gold, nine silver and three bronze medals which included one gold and three silvers in team events and the other medals in individual events.
The team's coach and event organiser Michelle McDonald hailed the competition which involved a combination of speed, freestyle and double dutch events a success.
``We learned new tricks and shared some of our skills,'' she said.
``I'm so proud of how the kids performed, because for many of them, they would have had personal bests.
``A lot of the competitors came from the bush so they loved Harrington Park, the school and its facilities.''
