Camden lose to the Dragons

16/07/2008 1:16:00 PM
CAMDEN lost 46-26 to Moss Vale on Sunday in the Group 6 Country Rugby league first grade competition.

The Dragons were ahead 30-16 at half-time but Camden reduced the deficit to four points when the score was 30-26 in the second half.

But three tries in the last 10 minutes saw Moss Vale secure the two competition points.

Moss Vale's best were Josh Saunders, Jon Cresswell and Daniel Drew.

Neil Begovitch, Sam Campbell and Chris Corby stood out for Camden.

THIRLMERE/Tahmoor picked up two easy competition points when Narellan forfeited on the day due to a shortage of players.

OAKDALE downed Picton 36-16 on Sunday at Victoria Park.

The Workers got off to a flier and were leading 22-0 at half-time.

Picton rallied in the second half but two tries to Oakdale's Luke Barron and Matt McCauley put the result beyond doubt.

Picton's Nathan Sutton and Oakdale's Bart Masters were sent off in the second half for using bad language.

Referees are cracking down on expletives in a effort to stop players upsetting spectators.

Oakdale's best were David Lowe, Luke Barron and Ron Jones while in the Picton team, Heath Browne, Darren Nolan and Rob Chauvet stood out.

Sunday's first grade matches at 2.30pm will feature Narellan taking on Camden at Narellan Sportsground, Oakdale hosting Moss Vale at Sid Sharpe Memorial Oval and Picton at home against Thirlmere/Tahmoor at Victoria Park.

Cunningham tips: Camden by 10 points, Oakdale by 6 and Thirlmere by 8.
