ORGANISERS have hailed the inaugural Camden Oran Park Anzac Run a resounding success.
About 350 people entered the fun run held in the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park on Sunday.
The run was a joint project by Camden Council, the Macarthur Lions Club and Camden RSL sub-branch.
Mayor Chris Patterson said: ``The weather was fantastic, the turnout fantastic and the track was brilliant. It was a really great family fun day.''
Cr Patterson said even marathon runner Rob de Castella, who was the guest starter, was impressed with the venue, course and set-up of the run.
``He thought it was fantastic,'' Cr Patterson said.
Money raised from the event will be donated to help Lifeline Macarthur's 24-hour telephone counselling service, and to the RSL sub-branch to plant trees and build a barbecue area on the Camden RSL Community Memorial Walkway.
