The Australian-born Hollywood star has been spotted in Macarthur in the past week as scenes were being shot at Brownlow Hill.

Sporting a Wolverine-style beard, Jackman was seen working out at both Fitness First and Aquafit in Campbelltown and stayed at Campbelltown Rydges.

The Advertiser understands Camelot, one of Camden's historic properties, is being considered by the production company as a location for some scenes of the film.

Jackman is no stranger to Camelot, having shot part of Baz Luhrmann's Australia at Camelot's farm stables with Nicole Kidman last year.

Campbelltown Rydges general manager Jo Acott said Jackman, who checked out last Thursday, was "very down to earth, a nice, unassuming man".

The hotel's staff rubbed shoulders with not only Jackman but the Black Eyed Peas' Will.I.Am, Naomi Watts's partner, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds and Dominic Monaghan from TV series Lost.

Ms Acott said the cast members would often sleep during the day and then head over to train at Aqua Fit gym before filming from 7pm to 6am.

She said Jackman was very low-key, sticking to orders of "poached eggs on wholemeal toast with avocado."

Apart from the four days' filming at Brownlow Hill, the film is also being shot at Fox Studios and in New Zealand.
